Source Ports

Introduction | DOS | Windows | Linux / Unix | Console | OS/2 | MacOS | BeOS | Bots & Mods | Misc. | Non Game Related

Doomworld's source port section contains a list of every known, workable source port for Doom, Heretic or Hexen. They are catalogued by the platform they work on: DOS, Windows, Linux / Unix, Amiga or other console platforms, OS2, Mac or BeOS. Some source ports are just that: a port of the original source code to eg. a different OS; others may have lots of new features and enhancements over 'vanilla' Doom.

Some new engine versions are focussed on game concepts not seen in Doom. These are called mods and are listed in their own section. Among these mods are Capture The Flag engines and bots. For detailed information on bots you should really visit Captain Mellow's... he has all the info you need and more. Want to know how a bot plays like? Comparative research? The latest dirt? He has it.

Then there is the really wacky stuff, such as Doom for palmtop computers or used as a process managing tool. You can find these ports / clones at our miscellaneous section, although not all of the files are mirrored due to their nature.

If you know of a Doom, Heretic or Hexen source port which is not shown here, or of the latest version of a port shown here, please email me.

To see the source port list per OS just click on the appropriate link below. Bots and mods are listed together in their own section. Apart from our Doomworld FTP site you can also download these files from all of Telefragged's mirrors. Please note that it takes a while for these mirrors to get updated with newer stuff.
