Earth

The forth episode of Ultimate Doom 'Thy Flesh Consumed' allegedly takes place in the first city you come to when you return to earth (there is no hint as to which one it is or even where it is geographically). thanks to Arioch.

In Doom 2 you find your self on Earth, hence the subtitle "Hell on Earth" As you play through the game you visit locations such as towns, catacombs, factorys and mines

Earth is the third planet from the sun and ironicly is 1 AU away from it (AU stands for astronomical unit, the distance from the earth to the sun 150 million km aprox) it's dimater is 12,756.3 km and it weighs 5.972e24 kg. Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543) worked out that the earth was another planet in the solar system and revolves around the sun. The surface of Earth is 75% water and it is the only planet that has liquid water on it's surface. The atmosphere of Earth is 77% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, with traces of argon, carbon dioxide and water. Earth's greenhouse effect rases the average temprature by 35° C. There is one natural satelite orbiting Earth, a moon called The Moon or Luna which is 384 km from its primary.
In Doom 2 map13 'Downtown' you can see id software's big black glass building, which in real life is located just off the freeway exit to downtown Mesquite, Texas, USA.

In the Novel DooM II "Hell on Earth" the story takes place in "Salt Lake City" UTAH, USA. The characters put together a "life boat" out of a rocket-mailtube and constructed a engine out of spare parts to leave Deimos which was in earths orbit at the time. Thanks to darnell woods.
