Monster Zoo: DooM II

Comments: Possibly the DooM (2) bad guy that's it's hardest to take seriously, the Cacodemon looks for all intents and purposes like a giant floating tomato. Which, while in real life might be very scary indeed, in a computer game is just comic. Legacy allows these buggers to float above your head, which is more than a little annoying. They shoot blue fireballs out of their mouths that are more potent than the imp's, but have no short range attack. This monster was obviously the product a very tired id artist and too much cofee.

Tactics: Here's where the chaingun excels. The things are too slow to float away, so just lock onto them, and keep firing 'til they fall from the sky like a sack of potatoes (or should that be tomatoes?). If you're using mouse look, you can kick super ass against these monsters. If you don't have the chain gun or plasma gun (which works even better, but plasma ammo should be saved for bigger monsters), duck and dive whilst shooting them to take cover from those nasty fireballs.
