DosDoom
DosDoom is the forerunner to just about every other existing source port out there in that
it was one of the very first to be available on the MS-DOS platform. As modifications and
changes to the engine became more popular, DosDoom began to evolve in this direction as
well. It supports high resolutions and custom control schemes like the others, but it sports
two unique features which sets it apart from the rest. The first is called Radius Trigger
Scripting (RTS), which allows special events to be triggered when a player crosses a
particular point. The second is DosDoom's famous Doom Definition Files (DDF), the definitive
replacement for the old .exe modifying program Dehacked. Needless to say DosDoom is the
choice port for TC and PC authors, due to DDF's power and ease of use. NOTE: Apparently
DosDoom currently supports true 3D floors! The DosDoom team is keeping everything under wraps,
so we'll have to wait until the next public release to see it for ourselves...

Other useful links:
DosDoom: The official DosDoom homepage hasn't
been updated in quite a while, but there's still plenty of information and resources you
can check out at their site. The latest news seems to indicate though that the DosDoom team
is very much alive and well as seen through their latest breakthrough - 3D floors.
Fanatic's Asylum: If there's anyone in the community that
truly deserves their nickname, it would be Marc Pullen aka "Fanatic." He's probably the number one
DosDoom evangelist out there, and is currently using the engine to power his own QDOOM project.
Fanatic updates almost every day, and never fails to let the Doom community about his progress. DDF
coding, mapping, music composition - you name it, Fanatic can do it. He also happens to be the main
source for the latest DosDoom news, even more so than the official DosDoom homepage!
Captain Mellow's: This page is actually split
into two sections, a bot page and a DosDoom area. Both haven't been updated in a while unfortunately,
but anyone looking to get some DosDoom editing done should hit up Captain Mellow's page for some
nice reading.
